Before your first session, you’ll be connected with your tutor through our online communication system, Remind Chat. You can share homework examples and other details to help them get to know your child.
Tip: Create a student account for your child to get them involved in the conversation.
Your child will meet with their tutor on camera and work through problems on screen. We recommend using two devices: a computer for the video call and a large touchscreen device for the interactive whiteboard.
Tip: Remind Tutoring also works on just one device—check out some alternative setups we recommend.
Your tutor will start your first session by getting to know your child, introducing the subject area, and providing a level assessment if necessary. Remind Tutoring pairs students with the tutor over time to help them gain confidence and build positive learning habits.
Tip: Parents are encouraged to attend the beginning and end of sessions to help set goals and check in on progress.
After each session, your tutor will share a personal summary in your chat with strengths and growth areas, tips for review, and other helpful resources. Online tutoring is most effective when everyone is on the same page and stays informed and involved.
Tip: Weekly sessions with your tutor allow your child to address immediate needs as well as build on progress over time.
Strong, consistent relationships transform learning. That’s why Remind tutors have a 4.74 average rating.

We recommend using two devices during your tutoring session: a computer for the video call and a large touchscreen device (like a Chromebook or tablet) for interactive whiteboarding. Click here to learn more about the pros and cons of different device setups.
If you're using a mobile device, you’ll need to download the Remind app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) so you can join the video call.
Students are most successful when parents participate actively in Remind Tutoring. We encourage parents to join the beginning and end of each tutoring session to help set goals and regroup on what was covered. After every tutoring session, you’ll receive a summary email about your child’s progress. You’re also welcome to communicate directly with the tutor via Remind.
At the beginning of each tutoring session, the tutor and your child will use a rating scale to assess how your child feels about the goal for that session. At the end of the session, your child will rate how they feel about the goal after working with the tutor.
Tutors will use assessments to track subject matter knowledge and key learning skills over time. All of these details will be included in your session summary.
Remind Tutoring is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific time, and Saturday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific time.
Remind Tutoring is $40 for a 40-minute session or $60 for a 60-minute session.
When you sign up for Remind Tutoring, you enroll in weekly tutoring sessions with the same tutor at the same time and day of the week.
