Here are a summary of the changes we’ve made.
- We used to require that teachers have the authority to bind their schools to the Terms of Service. This is no longer the case. Teachers can agree to the terms on their own.
- We made it clear that teachers can invite, and possibly in the future, directly add students and parents as subscribers.
- We clarified our policy that when children under 13 use our service, we’ll now notify parents that their child is using our service.
- We made it clearer that we don’t sell your data and only share your data with 3rd parties we use to operate Remind (e.g. to send text messages, to store our databases, etc).
- We clarified that we don’t charge for our current product and never will, but new or future features may be chargeable.
- We also clearly state we don’t plan to advertise on Remind.
- We changed the Intellectual Property rights to ensure that if we ever go out of business, we’ll remove your data and won’t sell it.
- We added language about a new short code we’ll soon be launching to let students and parents get Remind messages even faster.
- We simplified the rules behind how we can use the messages you post, stating that we can only use your messages to display them back to you and send them to your subscribers
